Cannot create a new account - Honey


If you're unable to create a new account on the Android Pebblebee app, please check the following:

  • Confirm that you are connected to the Internet when setting up your account.
  • Make sure you're using an email address that is not already associated with an existing Pebblebee account.
  • Check that the email address is correctly spelled.



If you're unable to create a new account on the iOS Pebblebee app, please check the following:

  • Confirm that you are connected to the Internet when setting up your account. 
  • Check that the email address is correctly spelled.​
  • Check your email Spam folder if you cannot find the verification email.

Why is my Honey showing as "Far Away" when it's right n...

There are a few common explanations for the app’s inability to connect to the Honey. If none of these apply, please contact support@pebblebee.com and we’ll be happy to help!

  • Your phone needs to be updated to the latest OS
  • The Bluetooth has become unstable and should be reset
    • To reset, turn off Bluetooth, then fully power down your phone and restart.
  • The account is open on multiple phones. The Honey will connect with one phone at a time. If another phone with that account is open within range of the Honey, it may be connected, preventing you from connecting.
  • Your Honey's battery needs replacing
    • To check if the battery is dead, try turning your Honey On/Off. If the Honey does not beep to indicate it's turning On (2 Beeps) or Off (3 Beeps), then the battery needs replacing. 

If your Honey is not listed at all in the app but you have previously claimed it, you may have accidentally created multiple accounts. Please make sure you have logged in to the same account used to originally claim the device. 

Did I create multiple accounts?

If you've logged into your account and see no devices in your Hive even though you've claimed one or more in the past, you may have created multiple accounts. 

Sometimes users accidentally register for multiple accounts. For instance, you might have originally signed in via Facebook and then later made an account with your email. These are separate accounts, so the devices on one would not appear in the other. If you think you've done this, try logging in to your account using a different email address to regain access to your claimed devices. 

It's also possible that when the account was initially created, the email address was misspelled-- for example "harry@gmail.con" instead of ".com." If you think this may be the case, please email our support team. It’s an easy fix that support@pebblebee.com would be happy to help with.

Why isn't my Honey showing up in the app?

The most common reason the Honey is not showing as in range in the app is because the Honey is turned Off or needs a new battery.

To make sure the Honey is On: 
Push the multi function button and hold it for 5 seconds to turn on the device. You will hear two beeps when it is turned on. If you hear only one beep (the older version) or three quick beeps (the new version), the device is turned off. In that case, try turning it on again.

If you do not hear any beeps, your battery may need to be replaced.

If your Honey is not listed at all in the app:
If the Honey does not show up at as option at all in the app, you may have accidentally created multiple accounts. Please try logging out of the app and logging back in using the same email address originally used to create an account. 


Why doesn't my Honey beep when I hold the button down?

The most likely explanation is that the battery has died. To replace the battery (CR2430), use the plastic tool provided in the package and insert into the two little holes on the battery cover and turn about 1/8 a turn, until it stops. If you’ve misplaced the battery cover tool, two ballpoint pen tips can be used instead.

If the Honey does not beep after a new battery has been placed in it, please contact us at support@pebblebee.com.

I can't get the battery cover off!

The battery cover door only turns about 1/8th of a turn, just enough to unlock it. The seal on the lid which gives the Pebblebee its water resistance can make it stick a little. You can:

1. Press on the other side of the Pebblebee device using the battery to push the door out...

2. Or, use tape to stick to the turned cover and pull straight out.

If the tool is lost, two dull pen tips can be used to unlock the cover. 

How do I delete a Honey?

To remove a device from an account, unclaim it. Unclaiming is easy, and does not require the Honey to be present.


1. Launch the app. 

2. From the Hive page, swipe the device that you want to delete to the left of the page.

3. A pop-up will ask you to confirm that you want to Unclaim your device.

4. The Honey can now be claimed by another account.


1. Launch the app.

2. Go to the device page for the Honey you want to delete.

3. Tap on the Settings gear.

4. Select "Delete device" at the bottom of the page. A pop-up will ask you to confirm.

5. The Honey can now be claimed by another account.

What if I don't have the same phone anymore?

That's okay! Since devices are claimed to accounts, not the actual phone, you don't need the original phone. Using any compatible phone, download the app and sign in to your account, then continue with the unclaiming process.

Why can't I add friends? None show up on the Facebook list!

For the Android "Pebblebee Honey & Stone" app only:

Using Facebook to add friends to your Honey’s is enabled by setting up your Pebblebee account through Facebook. If you have used any other method for logging in, it will ask you for access to your Facebook contacts. You can also enter another user’s email to share your device, as long as they also have a Pebblebee account.

Forgotten Password

For the Android "Pebblebee: Honey & Stone" app only:

If you can’t remember your password to your account, it can be easily reset.

Please use the “Forgot password” or "Reset Password" link in the sign-in page of the app to reset the password.

My Facebook login doesn't work!

Log into either the mobile Facebook app or the Facebook website. If you are experiencing a password issue with Facebook, change it in the Facebook app or through Facebook's web site. Verify that Pebblebee has access to your account.

1. Go to your Facebook Settings page

2. Click on the Apps

3. Under Pebblebee check that the app visibility is “Only Me” and all the Settings are checked and enabled.
